Senior Officer Beverly Randle is honored by the Humble Area Chamber of Commerce as Peace Officer of the Year:

    The Humble ISD Police Department is proud to announce that one of our own has been awarded Peace Officer of the Year by the Humble Area Chamber of Commerce.  Senior Police Officer Beverly Randle was awarded this honor at a special luncheon at the Humble Civic Center on Tuesday, May 20th, 2008.  Many officers are nominated for this honorable award, but only one is chosen.  The award is given to the officer who performs his or her duty above and beyond what is expected of them as a Texas Peace Officer. 

    Officer Randle is currently over the Humble ISD Police Department's Truancy Division.  Officer Randle has worked tirelessly to build the truancy program to what it is today.  Just as an example, between August 2007 and March of 2008, Officer Randle has had 899 cases of truancy referred to her.  She has filed 440 truancy cases with the courts.  She has also been responsible for over 260 home verifications to verify that truant students live in the district.  Officer Randle has made 44 visits to the homes of students to meet with the students and their parents. 

    Officer Randle works with our district's parents, students and staff to ensure that the students attend school and get an educations.  Whether it means taking a child before a judge, counseling with the student and their parents, or making a visit to their schools, Officer is dedicated to the betterment and education of the student.

    Officer Randle began here law enforcement career almost a quarter century ago with her first duty as a Jailer with the Harris County Sheriff's Department in 1982.  After leaving the Sheriff's Department, Officer Randle served with Harris County Pct. 7 Constable's Department as a Deputy Constable and then to the Harris County Pct. 6 Constable's Department .in the Courts and Civil Divisions.  Officer Randle began her ISD Police career with the North Forrest ISD Police where she served 13 years in the Truancy Division where she rose to the rank of Sergeant over the division.  Officer Randle has served over the Truancy Division of the Humble ISD Police Department for the past 4 years.  Officer Randle has also been instrumental in assisting other police departments in Texas, as well as other states, in the development and deployment of successful truancy programs.
